Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I spent 8 weeks in Montañita, living with a host family. 4 of them I took Surfclasses aswell. When I arrived I didn‘t speak a word of Spanish. The teachers are great and it feels more like talking to a friend than a teacher. I learned a lot in these 8 weeks (in my last week I rven had to deal with the subjuntivo). The school has a lot of activitys, basically everyday there is something different you can do. From Salsa, Yoga, cooking classes and Boxing to Daytrips to los frailes, Ayampe or la isla de plata. There was always something to do. The host Family was great, after the first day I felt like I was part of the Family. I really enjoyed getting a view of the everyday life in Ecuador and I was able to practice what I learned in school. I would definetly recommend it! I made a lot of friends in my time here and I was sad to leave. Thank you for this great expirience. The family was absolutely lovely, and so was the school staff. I had zero knowledge of the Spanish language and a plan to travel south America. I've been backpacking for the last 3 weeks now and am so happy with the amount of Spanish I can speak , it has helped me a great deal. Lots of fun activities were provided and lot's of friends have been made. I was here in low season which honestly I found amazing. Montanita Spanish School is the best way to visit Ecuadorian coast for surf, improving spanish, and creating some sweet community. The staff was super helpful coordinating our visit. The quality of the teaching is very high and the lessons are fun and engaging - the teachers encourage you to speak in Spanish from day 1 even when you are a beginner which helps to develop confidence! Also, all of the teachers, staff and volunteers are so welcoming and lovely and there was a real sense of community. I have met such lovely people there (both students and staff) who i will definitely stay in touch with ❤️ The school also organises so many cool activities - I especially loved the day trip to Las Frailles, the empanada cooking class and the welcome dinners!
