Spanish & Dive

A great way to see Ecuador is below the surface! This area of the Pacific coast has excellent diving opportunities. It is a great combination. Learning Spanish in the morning right on the beach, and Diving in the afternoon. With Salango, Los Ahorcados and Isla De La Plata (the best diving around, which many put on a par with diving in the Galapagos) just offshore, Montanita is a great place to base yourself

If you are already an experienced Diver we suggest your take our package of Spanish with 6 dives per week (3 two tank dives). You can easily upgrade to more dives if you wish. There are 50 Dive locations from Montanita, so you have a lot of variety! Or, you can take our dive professional course. This is combining Spanish with becoming a professional OWD Dive Master. Spanish (after English) is the second most important language for Dive instructors to learn for employment. So this is an increasingly popular course (and one of the few like it in the world!). What better place than near the equator, with warm water, tropical fish, whales, dolphins, soft and hard corals!

Isla De La Plata is known as the "Poor Man's Galapagos" because it has similar diving for only a small fraction of the price! Having the same type of current systems as the Galapagos, it brings a huge variety of fish and coral life. It is know for LOTS of fish life and very good soft and hard corals. You are very likely to see the following fish in numbers: Barber , Porcupine, Triger, Moorish idol, Flute, Trumpet, Parrots (big!), Surgeon, Puffer, file, butterfly, scorpion, Gringos, Yellow snapper, Hog, Damsel. Goby.
In numbers there are also Guitar sharks/rays, Wahoo, Tortugas (tortoises), Spotted rays, manta rays, eagle rays, dolphins and in season (July to October) many Whales. Nothing is more incredible than swimming amongst the whales!

If you are a beginner we suggest that you take our Spanish and Open Water package. This includes 20 hours of group Spanish (or 15 hours of private) per week for 2 weeks, and a full Open Water Diver certification course. Learn with our professional dive company to dive safely. This is a very popular package.

As well as recreational diving there is also excellent training opportunities. Our dive center offers Open Water, Advance Open Water, Rescue Diver, Dive Master, assistant instructor and many OWD specialty courses.

The Dive Master course is a 4,5, 7 or 8 week course including full intern training, PADI licenses and up to 60 dives. Learn Spanish and become a dive professional working as a Dive Master!
