We have our own accommodation especially for our students. An Oasis of tranquility located just 5 minutes walk from the school and 3 minutes walk from the centre of town. Nestled into the relaxed atmosphere of “Barrio Tigrillo” these Cabanas provide the best of both worlds, being moments away from the center of the action and providing the peace and tranquility needed to make the most of your time in Montanita.

Our Eco Cabanas are very spacious and come equipped with a private ensuite, large bed, hammocks and a fan. Just outside the door of your Cabana you will find a swimming pool, Jacuzzi, large communal kitchen and a large sitting area with TV and DVD.

We have made a big effort to be ecologically friendly. This includes much of the building materials being ecologically friendly, recycled water to feed our large and growing garden (please bring biodegradable soap and shampoo if possible), solar outside lighting, rainwater collection for swimming pool and Jacuzzi and a recycling system – all to help the environment.

Our accommodation has the perfect combination of a friendly and luxurious environment in a quiet location!

Cabanas  (seven only)

Staying true to the Rustic look of Montanita, these cabanas were constructed with the environment in mind. With bamboo construction and thatched roofs you will really feel like you are on holiday. Each cabana is furnished with a full ensuite (with private bathroom), and are the perfect option for a couple or friends travelling together (Matrimonial and separate beds available)

Our Student weekly price is $112 per week for a single. Second person is $63 per week (matrimonial or separate beds available).
(NB: Normal rate (non students or less than a week) $20 per night single. $30 per night double. High season* is $35 per person per night.)

Cabana with kitchen (two only)

We have two cabanas that are a little larger than the rest and are equipped with a small kitchen. These tastfuly decorated rooms are the cream of the crop and are perfect for a couple wishing to their own cooking in private. Who would believe that the price of luxury could be so reasonable.

Our Student weekly price is $127 per week for a single. Second person is $68 extra per week (matrimonial or separate beds available).
(NB: Normal rate (non students or less than a week) $23 per night single. $35 per night double. High season* is $40 per person per night.)

Shared Mini Dorm

This is the perfect option for those looking to for high quality accommodation on a budget. Keeping true to the rustic look of Montanita, our dorm rooms are all large and spacious allowing you to soak up the peaceful ambiance while saving those hard earned $$. With the options of either 6 bed or 4 bed dorms you will not have problem mainting some personal privacy.

Our Student weekly price is $63 per week.
(NB: Normal rate (non students or less than a week) $10 per night. High season* is $15 per person per night.)

Cabana prices include bed linen, towels and blankets. Dorm prices include bed linen and towels but if you feel cold at night we recommend that you bring something warm.

Home Stay

Your Ecuadorian host family gives you the opportunity to be fully immersed in the Ecuadorian lifestyle. While settling in and learning a new language can be hard when you arrive in a foreign country, having the support of a local family and a connection to the local community can make all the difference.

Your home stay in Montañita will show you much hospitality and help you adjust quickly to your new surroundings. This priceless experience of being treated as a family member from day one has often been described as one of the highlights of a student’s trip, not only because of the rapid improvement in their Spanish skills, but also the homey feeling, the great food and the lifelong connections they made.

All our home stay families are located in the center of Montañita, no more than 10 minutes walking distance from our school. Since it is our responsibility to make sure you are placed in a safe, clean and friendly environment, we carefully choose our families to ensure you get the best possible experience.

You will have a private room with a double bed, mosquito net, a small desk, a fan and a small set of drawers. Some rooms come with private bathrooms others share bathrooms with other students. Hot water can’t be guaranteed. If you are travelling with a friend, you can both live with the same family since they can receive up to two students at the same time. Meals will be Ecuadorian style and the families will do their best to satisfy special dietary requirements, however they might not always be possible.

Price: $126 per week including two meals per day.

* High season is the month of Dec 26 - Jan 30, and also Carnival and Easter. These prices only apply to non Montañita Spanish school students. For our students, normal prices apply.
